“CPSA welcomes the Opposition Leader Bill Shorten’s comments that the Labor Party will consider a Royal Commission into aged care”, said CPSA Policy Officer Bronagh Power.

“CPSA agrees with Mr Shorten’s acknowledgement that there is a national crisis in aged care, stemming from ineffective quality standards and inadequate staffing ratios.”

“After endless inquiries into aged care with very little changing as a result, it’s clear that a Royal Commission is necessary to root out the widespread abuse and neglect of nursing home residents.”

“CPSA urges the Australian Government to conduct a Royal Commission into aged care.”
