Submission to the Senate Select Committee on Supermarket Prices
CPSA has made a submission to the Senate Select Committee on Supermarket Prices. Our submission made a range of recommendations relating to income security and the Government’s management of economic issues that can lead to higher supermarket prices. CPSA has recommended that the Australian Government raise all income support payments to reverse the impact of rising prices. We have also recommended that the Government implement measures that prevent supermarkets from hiking prices during periods of economic uncertainty or emergency.
