Older Women’s Network upcoming events

The Older Women’s Network in NSW is a peak body that believes in a society rich in social capital, where mutual respect and trust are paramount, where diversity and debate are valued and where people and their networks have a legitimate voice.


Events are free of charge and open to all!


1) Poverty, the Indue Card & Women’s Rights

Pensioners have already been put on the Indue Card in one trial area. Find out how the Indue Card (Cashless Debit Card) works, and how it impacts your rights.

2) The Screen & The Spatula: New Ways of Cooking In the Digital Age

Join Belinda Jeffery & Caroline Baum in conversation on food, memories & how smells can transport us back in time. This is also your chance to ask Belinda questions about her cookbooks, and favourite recipes.

3) Chasing Happiness: A Conversation on Why Mental Health Matters

No matter our age, happiness is a state of mind which we long to hold on to. How can we think differently to overcome the challenges of ageing? Can we or should we chase happiness?
Caroline Baum will be asking these questions and more in the conversation with Petrea King (CEO of the Quest for Life Foundation) and Meg Smith  (A/Prof in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Western Sydney & President of Way Ahead: Mental Health Association)
